Always There

Hand reaching out from the sky

Time and time again you’re the one who shows up when somebody needs you to.

Sometimes you bring your words with you, sometimes no words at all – just the enduring companionship of a faithful friend.

But who shows up for you when you’re the one who’s aching for the presence of another?

Jesus, that’s who.  And in this case, me… because He wanted me to remind you, He’s always there.

You’re the one they turn to for their own self-understanding.

Like a human mirror or road map, you help others make sense of the terrain or the terrible, the magic or the mystifying of their lives.

But who holds up the mirror or points the way for you when the way seems baffling or impossible?

Jesus, that’s who.  And in this case, me… because He wanted me to remind you, He’s always there.

Alone is just a figment of a blind imagination.
Lost is just the devil’s panic button of despair.
So when you need reminders of your hope and destination,
Hear the Spirit’s whisper that your Friend is Always There.

You’re the one who’s in it for the long haul.

Hell and high water gave up on you a long time ago because of your steadfast presence in the lives of people who would otherwise be completely alone.

But who shoulders the yoke for you when it’s time to go the distance with your burdens or brokenness?

Jesus, that’s who.  And in this case, me… because He wanted me to remind you, He’s always there.

You’re the certainty for others in a world filled with unanswered questions, unmet needs, and unfulfilled promises.

You’re the one that nobody frets about, and can even take for granted if they’re not careful.

But who chisels answers in stone for you when you need solid foundations and immovable support?

Jesus, that’s who.  And in this case, me… because He wanted me to remind you, He’s always there.

“Abandoned” is a cruel form of vile disinformation.
Shifting sands of change and disappointment seem unfair.
So when you need reminders of your faith and firm foundation,
Hear the Spirit’s whisper that your Friend is Always There.

Across the span of your life, you’ve always been the courage giver, and the rock of assurance to the fearful.

You’re the calm in everybody else’s storm, the voice of sanity in their mayhem and madness.

But who speaks peace to your storms, and offers reassurance that you are greater than the object of your fears?

Jesus, that’s who.  And in this case, me… because He wanted me to remind you, He’s always there.

You’re the external compass to those in your universe, constantly pointing them to their True North.

You lend your strength to the powerless and, more importantly, point them toward their living, eternal Greater Power.

But who gives you the strength to carry on when you’re weary or feel as though you’ve lost your way?

Jesus, that’s who.  And in this case, me… because He wanted me to remind you, He’s always there.

Weakness is a gateway to a greater revelation.
Guidance is the Father’s way of telling you, “I care.”
So when you need reminders of the joy of your salvation,
Hear the Spirit’s whisper that your Friend is Always There.
