How Has God Answered YOUR Prayer?

We needed $370.00.  That’s what I figured up after looking at the bills.

That was how much month we had left at the end of the money.

Why was this important on this day?  Because I was leading a “praise revival” at a small church in north Texas.  Because we were newly-married.  Because we were short on cash.  Because this was the last day of the conference, and the love offering check would soon be coming in.

I’ll bet you didn’t know that preachers prayed about such things.

Anyway, on this day, we needed $370.  I could have asked the Lord for more; after all, it’s nothing to God to see to it I got $1,000, or $10,000 for that matter.

I could have asked for nothing, and said, “Lord, whatever your will is – that’s fine with me.”

But I sensed the freedom to ask – not big, but not small either.  To pray specifically for a need.  The need was for $370.00, so that was what I asked the Lord for.

That night, after the last service was over, the pastor handed me an envelope with a check in it.  Per proper ministerial etiquette, I slid it into my inside coat pocket (they teach you these kinds of things in seminary).  Later, on the way out the door, a guy walked up and handed me a check for $20.00, saying he hadn’t had time to write the check prior to the offering.

As soon as I got in the car and made sure no one was looking (they didn’t teach that in seminary – I just learned it on my own), I opened the envelope.  You guessed it – the check from the church was for $350.00.  God not only answered a specific prayer, He did so in a way that called attention to the fact that HE was the one providing it.

Over 30 years later, it remains one of my favorite stories of answered prayer.

Wow, Andy, what an amazing story! Our God is so good, isn’t He? I have stories, not just about money coming when I was most in need, but other amazing things the Lord has done for me over the years; too many to share here, but I will share one from Meditations of My heart: http://marthaorlando.blogspot.com/2013/10/make-straight-my-paths.html
Blessings, Andy!

Five years ago, God told me to relocate from Philly to Georgia. I did not have the money. I asked God to provide it for me. I was able to sell a “portion” of my furniture…and the rest I gave it away! It was JUST enough money for a plane ticket to GA. God is still supplying my needs today, five years later. Every time I pray, He answers…whether its for food, money to pay a bill, or medical expenses I am not able to cover. HE IS FAITHFUL…and will come through…if we ONLY believe! Praise the Lord!

I don’t think I have any examples of answers to exact amounts like that, although God has answered prayers for provisions bringing projects in just as I needed them. (I do have an example here of an answered prayer like that with an event I volunteer with http://marchofremembrancehouston.org/testimony-god-is-faithful/)

But I have seen answered prayers to healings, change in hearts, and moving things into position. Especially in the past few months . . . there have been crazy fast answers to prayer.
