200516911-001Standing in the gap for you, as expectantly as I can, I am praying that on this day like no other, you know the extraordinary comfort of ordinary faithfulness.  I pray that you would experience:

Times of “dull” rest, where both your body and your mind can enjoy the stillness of a peaceful heart after a productive day…

200180982-001Inspiration that comes, not from dazzling displays of radiance or glory, but from the quiet comfort of the wind through the trees, or the steady hum a distant engine…

Laughter that arises over the old stories, the familiar punch lines, and the shorthand humor of old friends or family…

Lyrics that sing anew to you from the old songs that formed your heritage of faith and intimacy with God…

Happiness that comes from the simple pleasures of doing your favorite things, with no sense of urgency or perfectionism – just the sheer delight in engagement…

Shepherd DancingEnthusiasm today over something or someone that genuinely excites you – even if you are the only person on earth who gets excited over something or someone like that…

Redemption of past mistakes, lost time, or lost opportunities, given in a way only a God who understands redemption can… and finally…

Expectancy that comes from knowing that everything that appears so ordinary is made extraordinary by a shape-shifting, faithful Lord.
