More to Come

in Five LV Laws, Principle of Eternity, Principle of Increase

AnticipationSomebody gave a very large sum of money to a respected businessman to bless a poor pastor. Thinking that the amount was too much to send all at once, the businessman forwarded just a portion along with a note that said simply, “More to come…”  In a few days the pastor received another envelope containing the same amount of money and the same message:  “More to come…”  At regular intervals, there came a third, and a fourth.  In fact, they continued, along with those encouraging words, until the entire sum had been received.

In much the same way, the Holy Spirit has chosen to give us His blessing in “measured amounts.”  It’s staggering to realize the full extent of the salvation Jesus Christ has purchased for us.  It will take eternity to comprehend it all.  So as you receive good things from the hand of a good God, remember, there’s more where that came from.  And if you have ever thought of becoming a follower of Jesus Christ, here is a sampling of what He promises:

He gives us His forgiveness as if we were the only ones who had ever sinned.  But there is more forgiveness to come…

He sustains us through the times when we are hurting. But there is more strength to come…

He encourages as we continue not only to believe in Him, but to believe in ourselves.  But there is more encouragement to come…

He gives us a sense of purpose and belonging; He makes us feel needed and important.  But there is more purpose to come…

He moves and communicates with us as we develop an intimate, personal relationship with Him. But there is more intimacy to come…

He works on us like an artist creates a masterpiece, transforming dull clay into an exquisite work of art.  But there is more work to come…

He assures us that His love and grace will never fail us.  But there is more assurance to come…

He promises us that He will never leave us or forsake us – that He will be here for us.  But there is more of His presence to come…

He enlarges our lives with a love that is sweeter, and joy that is deeper than the day before.   But there is even sweeter love and deeper joy to come…

He gives us a song in the night – a special love theme that sustains us and gives us courage when we feel alone.  But there are more songs to come…

He simplifies our lives when things seem to get so complicated.  He gives us truth to stand on, and security to rest in.  But there is more simplicity and security to come…

He gives us something to look forward to – the hope of a home in which we will never say, “Good-bye” again.  But there is more hope to come…

He helps us understand how futile life would be without Him.  But there is more understanding to come…

He gives memories and experiences to teach us and enrich our lives.  But there are more memories and experiences to come…

And He make dreams come true.  The big ones and the little ones.  The public ones and the secret ones. (Ps 37:4-5)  But there are more dreams and more fulfillment to come…

Even so….”  Come.
